Visitors are silhouetted against the flames on a adjacent video billboard as they stand atop the ruby-red stairs
that rise above the new TKTS booth in New York's Times Square. The billboard, which carries advertising for
Pontiac cars, is on the north side of 47th Street, across the street from the stairs and not part of the sculpture.
The TKTS booth, which sells discount same-day tickets to Broadway plays, and the ruby-red stair sculpture behind
it opened Oct. 18, 2008. The TKTS booth faces 47th Street to the north. The stairs face south toward Times Square.
