The annual wine festival at Buda Castle is a five-day-long event that attracts huge crowds. Basically all the many vintners of Hungary are represented at stands throughout the castle grounds, and after getting a wine glass (plus holder that you wear around your neck) at admission, you can sample as much and as many types of wine as you want (for a small fee for each). One of the main reasons I wanted to go on Saturday was that the entertainment was folk dance groups from around the country, one of them from Mezőkövesd, the heart of Matyó country.
