We decided rather late in the day to visit Szentendre Island, a 31-kilometer-long island in the Danube just outside Budapest.

It was very pastoral, although not as photographically inspiring as I had hoped (but some of the buildings in the towns were interesting). I think for more "island" shots, it might be better to visit in spring or summer, which we'll probably do, and also take a cruise around the island itself.

I found it quite interesting that the radio frequency we usually listen to turned into a Slovak station on this island, but I guess it shouldn't be surprising because this part of the Danube forms a part of the border with the Slovak Republic just a short distance from the island.
