We returned after two years to this beautiful creation by famous Hungarian architect Ödön Lechner as we were in the far-out neighborhood of Kőbánya looking for some other sights. There was blue sky and sunshine this time, and a wedding had just ended so the church was open, amazingly enough. Perfect timing and a perfect day to see it again.

One thing I've noticed about this church, is that it looks totally different, especially color-wise in different light and weather. The images I took on this visit look totally different from ones I took two years ago on a very overcast day in which a very intense sun burst out just as we were leaving and disappeared after about two minutes.

Szent Lászlo Church was designed by Ödön Lechner in the Secessionist style, a variation of Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) that incorporates elements of Hungarian folk art and which became the Hungarian national style, in 1894-1900. It is one of the tallest buildings in Hungary, with a spire reaching 83 meters in height and can be seen with its colorful Zsolnay tile roof from quite a distance.
