While getting together a group of images for an article I'm writing about photo ops in Turkey, I realized I didn't have a copy of this picture in my Ankara gallery. I used to see this gentleman every morning on my way to work and we often chatted. One day I asked if I could photograph him for a photo challenge, and he immediately agreed. I subsequently made copies of it for him and his daughter and received a lovely nazarlik (protection against the evil eye) in return. One of my all-time favorite Ankara images...
