One of the many call boxes located around DC dating to as early as 1864. Some were in the shape of a house and used by residents to report a fire, while others, like this one, were used by police to check in.

While many of the call boxes now feature artwork, this one, located near the Turkish ambassador’s residence, is just nicely decorated.
