Watching out for ‘vandals’ and dead ducks

National Guardsmen and other law enforcement officers have been posted to the Reflecting Pool, which after renovations ordered by Trump has been overcome by algae and peeling paint, to protect against what the president labels as vandals.

Unfortunately, a dead duckling was also discovered in the pool last weekend, with two more deceased ducks found in the lake at Constitution Gardens, some 250 feet away. The duckling’s body has mysteriously disappeared, but the other two ducks are undergoing necropsies to determine the cause of death, which wildlife experts say could be due to toxic algae blooms or chemicals from paint, as ducks often travel between the two bodies of water.

Sharp capture of the face of the gentleman on the right, though he was wearing a cap and had sunglasses on. Nice reflections. ~VVVVV~

It’s ridiculous to have the national guard there. I don’t think the dead ducks are a coincidence either. Thank you for documenting this. V

Well taken. The Reflecting Pool situation is also described colorfully in the Dutch newspapers. ~V

That is really disturbing about the dead ducks. I hope we find out what caused this. As for guarding against the mythical vandals of the pool, well, the real vandal is in the White House, sorry to say. V

Let me get this straight! First you take a young motivated person, then send them to the military to be trained at great cost for quite a while, make them professional soldiers, some of the best in the world. At great cost and time, they get trained again and over. Once you have strong, well trained and well equipped personnel ... to guard peeling paint and algae!

Even the wildlife is suffering in DC because of Trump. Poor ducks.
