A different kind of monarch

This was the only monarch I saw in this darker color. It will also be the last of my butterfly pictures for now. What a treat it was to have them enjoying flowers right next door to our house!

Two of a kind, posted earlier:

Nikon Z 7 ,Nikkor AF-S 300/4E PF ED VR with FTZ adapter
1/500s f/5.6 at 300.0mm iso160 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Wonderful butterfly images. This one just wanted to match that flower even more than the others.

You never stop to surprise us, Helen. After seeing various angles of the butterflies on the color-matching flowers, in this photo we have a chance to see the details of her semi see-through wings and her tiny body covered with the colorful multi tiny dots. It's like going to a butterfly museum. Thanks, Helen. ~VVVVV~
