We saw this mural a long time ago in Blagden Alley, one of the first places I found murals outside of Capitol Hill. Its complete title is “AEC vs. The Pension Building (Great Black Music: Ancient to the Future)” by Bill Warrell and was unveiled at the Alley-Oop Murals and Music Festival in 2017.

It took a lot of digging to find any details about the mural, but I really didn’t want to post it without explaining what it was. The Pension Building mentioned in the title is now the National Building Museum, and now that I look at it more closely, that’s clearly where the event depicted took place.
