Old National Geographic Society Warehouse

We’ve been to Eckington, a neighborhood north of Capitol Hill, many times to photograph murals, but Sunday was the first time we saw this building, which used to be the National Geographic Society warehouse, built in 1908. I believe the district government uses it for different purposes now. The society's name can be seen above the door.

It is interesting to see the difference between the ornate building and the more utilitarian addition. I bet the place was so fascinating when National Geographic was using it. V
