Queenie smiling

Queenie bares her teeth sometimes, although she’s not being aggressive, but she doesn’t seem to be able to control what her lips do. The first time I saw it I was a bit shocked, but now am used to it. Very odd habit of hers.

That is unusual, because she definitely looks angry when she does this. Nice to know she's not. ~BV~

She's probably having a "senior moment"!

Sure doesn't seem to be smiling. That look would probably keep the mailman away.

That is so funny!! Some dogs do smile like this and it can be intimidating until you realize they are trying to be friends! Great shot of the lovely girl. VV

Definitely something to get used to! The hair standing up on her back does add to the mildly ferocious look!

She looks like she would take off your head. Great that it's just a look.

She looks fierce! It’s good to know she is harmless. V

Indeed, a very odd habit!!! Hope all of your visitors are aware of this habit ahead of time. It could be scary to someone who doesn't understand what is going on.

You must feel so secured in your home with her, especially when you are alone. She's so beautiful

Nice to hear from others that this is normal behaviour for some dogs. Shows she really really likes being with you.

Queenie is impressive, even if she is not aggressive. She could change the way she smiles!

That's pretty scary looking! Nice to know that that's how some dogs smile! Great that you could capture it. V.

Some dogs smile like that. We had an Australian Shepherd who would do that when she was happy or excited.
