As usual, we watched the fireworks on TV at home since it’s just too much of a hassle to get down to the National Mall and wait in a huge crowd for hours for the spectacular display to begin. The last time I photographed them in person was in 2010, right before we moved to Budapest, from the US Capitol, when you could actually go pretty much anywhere on the grounds to shoot pictures (see https://pbase.com/helenpb/image/126635069 ). Not any more, unfortunately.
