Bridge guardian

One of four such sculptures guarding either end of a DC bridge. Maybe it’s my imagination, but I think the face has sort of a human-like look.

A shade of difference, posted earlier:

It does have a human like face. It also reminds of something from Buffalo. It looks powerful from your perspective. V

The hair on top of the head is wild!

A formidable guardian for sure. I see what you mean about the face.

You're right about the face. It doesn't look like just a bison. There something else going on. Impressive sculpture. And symbolic of America.

this suits an American bridge far better than the usual lion...that's a fine shot in sync with the gentle angle of the sculpture..
