‘Shackles, bullhooks, loneliness at the circus’

Seen outside what might have been a restaurant (or not) in downtown DC.

I think it is something that was put up by people opposing cruel treatment of elephants in the circus. It is attractive though and well captured, of course. ~BV~

This looks like something PETA might have put up... What a curious find. Very well captured.

That definitely sends a potent message.. I love the framing by the branches. V

You sure have made the most of this exciting find!
The setting is amazing too with the branches and the beautiful color of the building.

A protest display against the use of animals in circuses, a practice best discontinued.

Interesting POV, very balance of light and shadow! V

Fitting that it says "Circus" on it considering the joke party currently with the House majority.

a captive's lament perhaps...that is certainly no place for an elephant..
Tom Munson03-Mar-2023 17:12
It is a statement of how they are treated. Nice capture, Helen.

A very true sentiment but a curious place for the statue.
Danad03-Mar-2023 16:28
A stunning find. He seems to cry, maybe because he is in a circus, or maybe because wild animals are not allowed anymore in a circus. (This is the case in France, I don't now if it the same in USA)...
