Here be eagles

The National Arboretum is home to two bald eagles, Mr. President and his new mate, Lotus (Lady of the United States). Their first eaglet didn’t survive, but the second one was thriving, last I saw. The eaglecam can be viewed at https://naeaglecam.org

There's a viewing area at left, although nobody on the ground is ever really sure which tree the nest is in, but it’s somewhere in this grove of trees.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly
unsharp.

That's pretty cool they have eagles nesting there.

Eagle nests are absolutely huge and quite easy to see if they are in the foreground. Perhaps the nest is hidden in the background with other trees blocking the view. I used to watch our "local" nesting pair coming and going to their nest until one day a major windstorm knocked the nest down and killed the 3 Eaglets. Afterwards, the NPS recovered the nest and placed it in a tree farther back than where it had been. After that, the nest could no longer be seen from where the public were allowed to go.

This is a lovely Spring scene no matter what. And it's really cool that the Gardens have a nesting pair of Bald Eagles.

Framed so beautifully. A place where eagles can hopefully thrive. V

Well no sign of the eagles in this frame, but the area is so pretty. A pleasing Spring scene.

Wonderful patterns of light and shadows in this tranquil and very beautiful capture. The trees frame this image nicely and the spring colors add warmth and vibrance. Looks like a wonderful location for eagles. VV
