A glimpse of Mr. Cardinal

I was out early yesterday evening photographing our daffodils when suddenly there was a flurry of activity in the immediate area – several grackles and mourning doves next door; a starling high up in a tree; sparrows, grackles and a squirrel at a feeder a few houses down; and last but not least, Mr. Cardinal sitting on fence across the entry to the alley. I got off a few shots (with part of an iron fence in the way, unfortunately), but when I tried to get closer, he took off, as I expected he would. It was an exciting half hour, and now I know the perfect time to go out and see who’s around.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly
unsharp.

Sign of spring, maybe, posted earlier:
