I’ve read in the news about people in some parts of the country protesting any kind of mask mandate, or even a request to wear a mask, so I’m simply amazed whenever I go into a supermarket here in the District or across the river in Virginia and see pretty much everybody in the store masked up. There used to be a mandate in DC, which ended last week, yet people still don a mask as a matter of habit now, and I’ve never seen or heard of unhappy customers screaming at guards or attacking clerks because they feel their “rights” are being violated. People seem to have adopted masking as a way of life here, at least for the time being, and I for one am happy they have.
