Taken outside the Navy Yard on the Anacostia River. I seem to recall taking this from the lane of a busy street while Tim kept watch because I didn’t like any other perspective I tried.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

The Capitol Hill Alphabet Animal Art Project, funded by the District of Columbia government and executed by the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, comprises animals and insects on lamp posts and street signs representing the name of the relevant street, something like when a parent would tell their child, "G St... G is for Grasshopper." Over the years the project was expanded to include 20 such decorations in SE Capitol Hill, although one of them has unfortunately disappeared. Some of the pictures here also appeared in my scavenger hunt gallery as well.
