I heard the neighborhood cardinal singing nearby again, and turned out he was in a tree close to our deck. I ran to get my camera and quietly opened the door and gate and started snapping. Unfortunately, the sun was setting behind him and he had parked himself in front of a shoot, but I’m always thrilled to get any picture I can get of him.
