This mural painted on the side of Madam’s Organ Blues Bar and featuring the restaurant’s burlesque mascot has apparently sparked a lot of controversy in the Adams Morgan neighborhood where it’s located. Some residents claim it’s offensive (due to the size of her breast), although apparently the city says it isn’t but must be considered an advertisement because of the restaurant’s name appearing on it, for which no permit was issued. The owner refused to remove the name and was fined, and the case is still under appeal.
I had never even heard of it but happened to see the mural while searching for another one in Adams Morgan.
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.
