Difficult subject

I found this kind of butterfly very difficult to photograph because they rarely landed on anything, and when they did, they kept flapping their wings, but Tim managed to capture this one.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Effectivement ces papillons voltigent énormément et se posent rarement, une superbe vue de côté de joli papillon! V

Tim got a remarkable shot of this beautiful swallowtail, so elegant with its long wings. They are very tough to photograph for the reasons you mention. Kudos to Tim. V

Butterflies can be challenging at times but they do pose nicely from time to time especially if they are having a favorite lunch.
Nice Butterfly shot Tim.

Absolutely top!

Super catch. Best thing I've found with butterflies is to work in burst mode because they're constantly opening and closing their wings. Eventually you get one with the wings in the property position.
