Waiting for action

Taken last evening at Lincoln Park (a block from our house), where a group of protesters were planning to pull down a statue of Abraham Lincoln (below/previous picture), I believe because they don’t like the subservient Black figure at his feet. I counted at least 25 police cars and countless police bicycles on the scene.

The statue, paid for in its entirety by emancipated slaves, was still standing this morning. Apparently the protesters are planning to return on Thursday evening with “reinforcements.”

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Good to see the police are mostly black - I wonder if that was deliberate ! Good shot V

What a shame this sort of thing is happening while in the midst of a pandemic.
