The Ortaköy Mosque, officially the Büyük Mecidiye Camii, was built on the Bosporus between 1854 and 1856 upon the order of Ottoman Sultan Abdülmecid. I felt this was the most beautiful mosque in Istanbul and took a better picture of it in later years http://pbase.com/helenpb/image/52036076 where the minarets are in full view, but still, I liked the close-up details in this shot.
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
