Selimiye Mosque, Edirne

The Selimiye Mosque is an Ottoman imperial mosque located in the city of Edirne, in northwestern Turkey. The mosque was commissioned by Sultan Selim II and built by the imperial architect Mimar Sinan between 1568 and 1575. I probably should have cloned out the power line, but it was just too difficult to do with a scanned photo like this.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Impressive and beautiful. For a moment I thought that was taken in Istanbul. V
