Stereotypical

I had to laugh when I saw this – protective male watching over his demure female. But she’s keeping a keen eye on things and probably rules the roost.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

I was watching male/female pairs at a nearby lake recently. They took turns leading/following very closely. It was interesting to watch. Great catch here. I agree that she's probably in charge. V

They are a pretty pair. Mallards are so common but just look at the details in both of their plumage.
