Another unusual bridge in Portsmouth, NH

The Sarah Mildred Long Bridge is a lift bridge spanning the Piscataqua River between Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and Kittery, Maine. It was a replacement for an older bridge of the same name and was opened in March 2018.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

An engineering marvel - will have to look up to find out who Sarah Mildred Long was to have such a great bridge named after her.

It would be interesting to watch the center span being raised. V

It appears this bridge raises up in the middle.. Nicely captured, Helen.

We used to go over that old bridge all the time. This is the first time I've seen the new bridge. Sleek looking. V

This looks to be larger than most lift span bridges ~V~
