Beware of the water

I have to wonder how safe it is for all the birds…

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

this is the only good way to protect the water feature and its inhabitants, very well seen and presented, very nice work Helen BV+++

Birds and water fowl can often exist in bodies of water that have bacteria that could kill us. So I guess the fate of your photo subjects depends on exactly what is in the water to prompt that warming sign.

An excess number of water fowl (and their fecal matter) on a small pond actually can contribute to making the water toxic to humans.

At the same time, in some parts of the US , wildlife management now suspect new water fowl deaths being connected to increased algae bloom coming from Climate Change. But whatever, I certainly wouldn't want to eat a duck that eats a fish from contaminated water...

I would guess then that it's not safe for any living thing that inhabits or fishes in that water. How sad.

We're having a problem with toxic algae bloom out here on the West Coast.
