Junghwajeon Hall is the main throne hall at Deoksugung Palace and originally served as the throne hall until Junghwajeon was built to the south. When the hall was built in 1902 it featured a two-tiered roof. It was damaged by fire in 1904. It was rebuilt two years later with a single level roof as seen today.

Deoksugung is a walled compound of palaces in Seoul that was inhabited by members of Korea's royal family during the Joseon monarchy until the annexation of Korea by Japan in 1910. It is one of the "Five Grand Palaces" built by the kings of the Joseon Dynasty.

Best to view in "Original" or “Auto” because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
