Eye of the rooster

Of course there were chickens at the National Colonial Farm, but they weren’t as friendly as the cows and not as cooperative for portraits.

Best to view in "Original" or “Auto” because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

We went back to Piscataway Park on the Maryland side of the Potomac River, hoping to see some ospreys or bald eagles there again, but there weren’t any of either around. There were, however, a lot of dragonflies and butterflies as well as a barnyard full of sheep, cows, pigs and chickens at the National Colonial Farm. The extensive grounds are run by the National Park Service and simply gorgeous, a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon.

It looks like this guy was camera-shy Helen. Good head shot though.

OK definitely not interested getting its picture taken.

Outstanding capture of this rooster. His eye is almost electrifying in this light. I like the way the grid of the fence frames it. V.
