Piscataway Park is situated immediately opposite Mount Vernon, George Washington’s plantation on the banks of the Potomac River and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area. Taken from a dock with a large nest that used to belong to bald eagles but was taken over by ospreys, who weren’t in evidence when we visited this time.

We went back to Piscataway Park on the Maryland side of the Potomac River, hoping to see some ospreys or bald eagles there again, but there weren’t any of either around. There were, however, a lot of dragonflies and butterflies as well as a barnyard full of sheep, cows, pigs and chickens at the National Colonial Farm. The extensive grounds are run by the National Park Service and simply gorgeous, a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Best to view in "Original" or “Auto” because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
