The deity Ganesha, Gangaramaya Temple

Ganesha, featuring an elephant head, is a deity in the Hindu pantheon, but devotion to him extends to Buddhists and Jains as well. He is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom.

*****
Gangaramaya is a Buddhist temple built in the late 19th century in a mix of Sri Lankan, Thai, Indian and Chinese architectural styles.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

One of my favorite Hindu deities - worshiped before any voyage or new undertaking.
