Colombo view

Sri Lanka’s presidential palace, the colonnaded building at lower left, has always had a clear view of the Indian Ocean, but that will end soon because the Chinese have laid a huge amount of landfill at right, where they are going to build some enormous complex.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Nice shot. The Colombo skyline has changed dramatically since my 3 long visits there in the 1980s. I have many pleasant memories of my unforgettable sojourns in Sri Lanka more than three decades ago. -V-

Impressive and appealing scene/view. An urban landscape well framed within the ever present sea and the sky, very nice!

It looks like the city is booming, but the lovely presidential palace is dwarfed by ho-hum highrises! I suppose more of the same on the infill? :-(( V
