Shovelers shoveling

Tim was off on Thursday, so we went down to Constitution Gardens to see if my friend the heron was still there, which he was (below/previous picture), much to our surprise given our recent arctic weather. I also wanted to look more closely at the northern shovelers who live on the lake. I found them, but they spent so much time with their heads in the water, only coming up for air for a second, that I found them difficult to photograph.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

You got a very fine shot here, I especially like the water beading on their heads. Shovellers are beautiful ducks, for sure. V

A good catch! I don't have the patience to photograph birds like my devoted birding friends. Once in a while, I get lucky. Ha! V
