Z7: Brazilian cactus

With literally nothing open on the National Mall except the US Botanic Garden, we went down there on Saturday to try to get a few pictures. We had the Nikon Z7 and the Sony with us, and I’d have to say overall the visit was disappointing. It was too dark in there for the Sony and very high ISOs, and I wasn’t happy (again) with most of the close-ups of flowers with the Z7, although I’ve tried to fix them up as best I can in PS.

I’ve decided to do a small sub-gallery with the pictures from both cameras for comparison. I’d recommend looking at the Sony version below, too.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

The two are very similar. But I prefer like the Nikon image

This is my preference between the two images. Nice work.

I think it's marvelous. You've really captured the essence here, and it's a pleasure to look at.

I think it captures detail well. It may be easier to tell on a large screen. This beautifully fills the frame. V

Your concern about the z7 not withstanding I really like what you've done here. There is a clearly defined focal point and terrific detail where it counts there. And I like that you opened up the frame enough to see the other cacti for context. Nicely done.
