Surveying his territory

The park near our house has been full of squirrels lately. This little guy hung around for a long time surveying his territory. Or maybe he was just paralyzed because of me.

I love how still they get when they're checking out whether something is friend or foe. I get to watch lots of them in my yard as there are a couple nests in trees, plus plenty of acorn food.
