Making a statement

I did a very extensive gallery (this one) of Capitol Hill homes the last time we were posted to Washington so rarely photograph them now. But this boldly painted home stopped me in my tracks, so to speak, causing us to hold up traffic while I tried to get a picture of it from the car. The Hill is a historic preservation district, and residents don’t generally go for shocking displays of color.

Nice that there's a tree to break the solid colourful wall - neat shot with the painter busy at work ! V

It definitely is eye catching and worth holding up traffic. V

Maybe they are trying to match the color of the hair of the current resident of a certain White House. Nice shot with the painter on the ladder! V

Easy to find your way home looking for that colour.

Certainly stands out! It's interesting that they don't have to match the other half of the building. No rules on color, I gather. V

Eye catching for sure. Good for them.

a stolid looking building, so perhaps the bold colour is excusable...DC seems quite colourful these days, perhaps distressingly so...

It certainly stands out, great image of it with the painter in view.

That yellow really does make a statement!
Great shot!
It would be interesting to know what the neighbors think!

There is certainly no trouble telling it from its neighbors. Great catch! V

Well, however this yellow color contributes to an interesting photo. Vote :)

That is an eye-popping colour, and will surely brighten up the street vista! V

Very bright indeed. I'm surprised that was allowed.
