Waiting for a ride

These people were waiting for transportation in vans to the police station.

*****

We went to a protest on Saturday at the US Capitol, just to see what was going on. A large group of people protesting the nomination and subsequent confirmation of Brett Kavanagh to the US Supreme Court had stormed the steps of the Capitol and stayed there until they were led away by the police one by one and arrested. We were in a large, very emotional crowd in front of them, taking pictures.

Regardless of whether one favors his confirmation or not, I believe this was a case of democracy in action.

A lighter moment, for some, posted earlier:

What's up with the orange wristbands? Looks like this was an organized group, arrested together. V

If you break the law you pay the price.

This group certainly doesn't look like the "violet mob" that some of our politicians have been talking about. I'm sure each one has a personal story to be told that brought them to this point.

law and order misguided, frivolous, and petty...these people, sincerely voicing their opinions, do not appear to be a threat to national security...no wonder US jails are filled to an overflow point....oddly enough, politicians can walk freely..

This is why America has become the nation it has. Whatever the issue we have always moved forward and improved. v

Nice shot of civil disobedience in action.
