Sacrifice

Tim and some tourists from India came upon this goat outside one of the buildings of the memorial complex. The Indians thought it was a pet or something, but Tim knew it was a sacrifice, and sure enough it was, right in front of their eyes. At least in Turkey, animals are mainly sacrificed during the Islamic holiday of Kurban Bayramı (Eid al-Adha, Festival of the Sacrifice), but I guess it can be done at any time of the year.

I hope it was done humanely.

A surprising event if people were not expecting it

I realize it's important to respect other cultures, but still a little hard to swallow.

In front of their eyes?! Can't fathom why that needs to be the case. BTW, the Indians and Pakistanis signed the Tashkent agreement in 1966 in the city to signal the end of 1965 war between the two countries.

That is a sickening thought...
