Mom, dad and ECC3

Just added six screen shots to this non-photographic gallery of new life in a bald eagle nest in Washington, D.C.

The parents, Liberty and Justice, have a nest on the police academy grounds by the Anacostia River, and two eaglets hatched between March 17 and 20.

Liberty and Justice built their nest in 2005 and have raised one or two young every year since. They were named by former Police Chief Cathy Lanier, on the day of the Boston Bombing. She called a press conference at the eagle's nest to name them.

The eagle cam feed can be found at http://www.eaglecam.org

The other eagle cam nest in DC, at the National Arboretum, has the parents but no eggs yet, which has eagle fans a bit worried. Unfortunately, the American Eagle Foundation cameras at this nest are far better than the one at the police academy!
