Termessos gymnasium

Termessos was a Pisidian city built at an altitude of more than 1,000 meters in the Taurus Mountains of Turkey’s Antalya province and is one of the best preserved of the ancient cities in Turkey. What is known of Termessos' history commences principally at the time that Alexander the Great surrounded the city in 333 BC; he likened the city to an eagle's nest and in one of few cases, failed to conquer it.

The gymnasium is said to date from the second half of the second century B.C.

These people lived lives not so dissimilar to ours! Mind you, the only reason I go near a gym is to play table tennis.

Rocky mountains and stone architecture - both things that endure well. Nicely captured in that light.
