Antalya, keeping an eye on you!

Antalya is an internationally popular resort city located on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast and bordered by the Taurus Mountains. It was first settled around 200 B.C. by the Attalid dynasty of Pergamon, which was soon subdued by the Romans, who built numerous monuments during their rule.

I believe this is part of the Yivli Minare Mosque complex (previous picture) that was built in 1230 during the reign of Seljuk Sultan Aladdin Keykubad I. It was destroyed in the 14th century and rebuilt in 1373 on the foundation of a Byzantine church.

So near yet so far, posted earlier.

It seems to me that in some places in the world there is no such thing as paranoia, because you are being watched all the time. I am not just talking about the Middle East. Great Image V

The ancient building is amazing, but what I really like here is the contrast between the old building and the modern sign and how the the "man in the sign" appears to be checking out the tourists. Cool shot.

tons of textures here between building and palms...

An interesting structure with its ribbed dome. The people add context as to scale for the dome and the sign. V

an interesting dome in those lovely tiles

Fantastic scene. The sign to the left is interesting considering the ancient building. V
