Göreme, Cappadocia

I have other pictures of Cappadocia taken from 2003 to 2006 with a digital camera http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/the_wonders_of_turkeys_cappadocia , so will only post a few older ones here. This is the town of Göreme, and in view are some of the area’s famous “fairy chimneys.”

I think the arrows are pointing down to keep drivers' eyes on the road instead of on the fantastic formations in the background!

the town seems in a wonderful location...local transport in the 90s was still remarkably modest..
