Kurume azalea, in training since 1987

We visited the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum at the National Arboretum, reputed to hold one of the finest collections of miniature masterpieces in North America, with bonsai originating from Japan and penjing from China.

I thought this was an interesting bonsai, reflecting one of the most popular collections of the Arboretum — the azaleas.

Wow, Azaleas are a PIA to grow in my opinion. So this one must represent a whole lot of perfect light and acidic soil, and work work work. Great shot. V
