How cool is this! I had of course heard of Apple Watches while in Riyadh but had never seen one since Apple stores don’t exist there, and I’m not even sure they would ship one to Saudi Arabia. Anyway, when I finally saw them in person in Portland, I couldn’t resist, figuring it would be a fun toy, but in fact, I’m finding the watch to be quite useful, with notifications for email, messages, breaking news, audible map directions, measurement of my heart rate, the ability to make and receive phone calls as well as text messages on the watch (and telling it verbally who to call), even using it to take pictures through my iPhone. Most people probably know all this already, but what a revelation for me! I was so enamored with it that Tim decided to get one too. I have the face set not just for Pacific time but also for Tokyo and Istanbul, both of which time zones I work in, plus Portland weather, remaining battery charge and date. I have since changed the color from red to blue, but purple was a strong contender ;-).
