Casa Batlló

Casa Batlló by Antoni Gaudí involved the conversion of an existing building into a block of flats. With its reworked facade in stunning organic forms and its fantastic chimneys and rooftop, it remains as bold and convention-defying today as it did when it was finished in 1906. The building has been said to symbolize the legend of St. George killing the dragon, whose scaly back arches above the main facade. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2005. you have performed a miracle getting this whole facade in without a bus or other obstruction! Catching the trees leafless has also helped. Fantastic

I can't wait to see more photos of this spectacular place. Why, why, why must we put up with ugly boxes for apt. buildings, instead of appealing, unique and fun places like this. VV

Yes, truly stunning organic forms. I love the little bit of green tree in front, but imagine in a couple of years those trees will perhaps block this lovely view! You caught it at the right time!
