This is a fascinating carpet; the weaver apparently started out with one design (bottom section) and changed her mind and the design and colors. One can only imagine the real story behind this, but it is truly a one-of-a-kind piece. I believe it's Kurdish, from southeastern Anatolia, around Malatya.
