Trying Out the Sony H1

I'm just trying to get a feel for the Sony DSC-H1 and whether or not I like it and am not processing shots as carerfully as I might for most "keepers." All shots taken in Ankara, Turkey. NOTE: I didn't keep my first H1 but gave it to someone who was dying to have it. I now have another one and am once again trying it out. HB

Note: I decided to give the H1 another try (September) and am currently pleased with what I am getting. HB

Rick, I decided not to keep the H1. Part of it was that a friend really really wanted to have it, and part was that I simply wasn't entirely pleased with the images. For some reason I found them very difficult to adequately post process, although unlike some people with this camera who say very little is needed, my shots needed a lot. Another friend (two, actually) felt my shots were lacking "punch," that color wasn't as good as expected, even after post processing. Guess I'll stick with my D70 and F717 for the forseeable future! Helen

Helen, Did you decide to keep it. I really like the photos but there seems to be something missing making it perfect ( they are never perfect are they?) The photos almost seem too good or too light or not enough contrast. I don't know can't put my finger on it but they are certainly close to dslr quality

Helen, Thanks for the link. I think your results are very good. The H1 would be great for a trip when you want a lighter load. I appreciate your input!
