There seems to be some controversy over this, but according to my guidebook this Gothic cathedral was begun in 1298 and completed (the spire) in the 20th century. We went to this cathedral three times to be able to photograph it. The first two times there was a Mass going on, so the many tourists were kept at the back of the church. The last time we had made note of when they were holding services and timed our visit in between them and so were allowed right in.
I can hardly believe it, but this should be my last Barcelona sub-gallery (until we return in three weeks, that is)! Who would have ever thought I could have taken so many pictures over a course of four days in such terrible weather ;-).
