After spending almost 21 hours in the waters around the Big Island of Hawaii, David McMahon of Kailua
gives the Hawaiian "shaka" (I'm okay!) sign after his rescue today by the US Coast Guard. His plane
went missing yesterday afternoon enroute from Maui to Kona approximately 25 miles northwest of the Kona
airport. David, and his passenger Sidney Uemoto, swam all night and were found earlier today about 9
miles offshore of the Big Island, a little tired and hungry, but otherwise okay.
