Originally built in front of the urinals at Doc's Marina Grill, a periscope built into the wall offers a look around Eagle Harbor while relieving oneself. Those who don't identify as men were encouraged to ask the staff to clear the room to give them a chance to look into the periscope.
Doc's has since remodeled their restrooms to make a single gender neutral room with several individual fully enclosed locking stalls, one of which still contains the periscope over a toilet. Urinals are extinct at Doc's.
The mirrors used in the periscope are about the size of those found on the backs of doors and provide a commanding view. Lee Scott, a CMU design graduate, is credited for designing this unusual bathroom view.
